Happy Easter!

After a long, cold winter the trees are budding, flowers are popping up, and our lawns are green again. I can shed my jacket and everything seems brighter, lighter, and more possible. I adore the symbolism of Easter and of spring- new life, rebirth, fresh starts, hope…. If you know me or have followed me, you know I’m a sucker for beginnings. Easter provides me with another chance to get it right. I can’t be alone. Look at all of the books and articles on spring cleaning, gardening (planting new life!), and renewal. There is no better time for us-for me!!-to begin again. There is no better time for Hope to reign.

Pause with me for a moment and reflect on what our Jesus did. Y’all, He did it for you. He did it for me. How do I lose sight of this?!?! When I truly stop to ponder the enormity of His love and His sacrifice…when I still myself and dwell on the Gift He has freely bestowed…I. Am. Undone.  And I am overwhelmed by my foolishness in focusing on petty things. How do I allow myself to be trapped by the dailyness of this life?!  Last year my Easter resolution was to walk in forgiveness. It’s not easy. In fact, some days it’s a real battle, but it’s what I’m called to do. This year my Easter resolution is to live in The Word. I want to read, think, speak, pray, and “do” The Word.

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)

“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Psalm 119:105 (NIV)

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” James 1:22 (NIV)

“How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word. Psalm 119:9 (NIV)

“The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”  Psalm 119:130 (NIV)

“He replied, ‘Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.'” Luke 11:28 (NIV)

“As for God, his way is perfect: The Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.”

Psalm 18:30 (NIV)

What are your thoughts on this? As always, I wish you MUCH joy on your journey!

Loves and Links: Share the Love

The weather is getting warmer. Trees and flowers are blooming. I think I’m over the crud. Yes…life is sweet. As the season changes, I find myself wanting a few new wardrobe pieces. Do you? And, boy, Sephora’s emails tempt me with trying new products! Today I’m sharing a few more of my favorite things.

If you like exploring new products, read on and read here for the last time I shared.

  • I love my lotions and potions! A new favorite is Origins Rejuvenating Hand Treatment. It goes on well. It’s not greasy. And it has a light, fresh smell. Best of all, it’s truly moisturizing. My hands look great and feel great. It’s worth the price.
  • Like salty, crunchy snacks? Looking for something a little healthier than chips? Yeah, me too. Try these.  Super yum!
  • Skinny Pop. Another super yum.  Enough said.
  • Clinique’s pink chocolate eyeshadow is soooo pretty!
  • Looking to reduce fine lines and wrinkles? This is expensive, but worth it!
  • Looking for a non-toxic room freshener? Diffuse peppermint oil. It smells great and energizes me. I only use Young Living oils. I sell YL too. I’d love to have you join my team.
  • Another healthier snacking option is this super yummy balsamic black bean dip
  • I recently tried this mascara. Y’all, it’s GOOD! It’s another splurge item, but is worth it.
  • I like this eye makeup remover and it won’t break the bank!
  • I adore jewelry and I tend to follow the “go big or go home” line of thinking, but when I opt for a more delicate, elegant look I love this dainty necklace my hubby gave me a year or two ago.

I’d love to hear about your favorites! As always, I wish you MUCH joy!

The Power of Three

Three. Not too big. Not too small. Quite manageable, really. Three has always been my favorite number, but it’s now become my mantra.

My students will tell you it’s true. We have a little “three before me” rule in 2A. If I’m working with groups or individuals, you must check with three classmates with your question before interrupting us. It works beautifully, since most questions are ones I’ve already answered. I hope I’m also teaching them to rely on each other.

My family and friends will tell you it’s true. It’s a daily goal to commit three random acts of kindness. These range from simply being patient with others in traffic to stopping at a child’s lemonade stand (a favorite!) to running an errand for someone to giving a gift card to someone needing encouragement.

My husband will tell you it’s true. Every weekend I strive to get rid of…
